Wisconsin Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Clinton LumberKings got a superb performance from pitcher Ken Ralston, but the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers still won the game, 3-2. Ralston threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Daniel Reyes, who is tied for 9th in the MID in holds with 6, was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-5. The losing pitcher was Nazih bin Burhan. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Compton.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Melvin Ramos? The 21-year old center fielder Ramos stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Wisconsin up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Ramos.
Wisconsin now has a record of 70-65 with the win.
