The Clinton LumberKings racked up a win at Veterans Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 4-2. Salvador Moya, who started for Clinton, pitched effectively for his team. The win boosts the LumberKings to 49-87. The loss puts the Kernels at 51-85.
John Ramirez, the 24-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramirez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Clinton up, 2-0.
