The Lansing Lugnuts had to overcome a good performance from Bowling Green pitcher Manny Flemate to claim a 3-2 win at Bowling Green Ballpark. Flemate went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Vince Luft finished to wrap up his 14th save. With the victory, the Lugnuts record stands at 62-75.

Lansing used a timely hit from Fernando Palacios to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lugnuts ahead, 3-2. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Ernesto Torre.
