Bees Rally For 7-5 Win
|
The Bees grabbed a win, 7-5, at Ashford University Field, overcoming a fine effort from Clinton pitcher Tony Parra. Parra went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Burlington reliever Joe Ryan picked up the win, upping his record to 10-16. Shane Mattila was saddled with the loss. Julio Saldana earned the save for Burlington, his 5th of the year.
Burlington used the clutch hitting of Rich Orellana to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Bees the lead, 6-2. For the game, Orellana had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Orellana told the Burlington Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
The Bees now have a record of 55-82 with the win over Clinton.
