Scott Morton pitched well, but his team, the Dayton Dragons, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Lansing Lugnuts in 10 innings. The win makes Lansing 67-72.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 22-year old left fielder Alex Palafox had a chance to be the hero. Dayton pitcher Scott Morton wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Palafox grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Lugnuts had themselves a thrilling win.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Phil Phalen, the Lansing skipper. "This one tested us."
