The Captains grabbed a win, 3-0, at Parkview Field, overcoming a fine effort from Fort Wayne pitcher Jonathan Texter. Texter went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. David Ranaldi got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 4.1 innings. Matt Scott finished to wrap up his 19th save.

Lake County relied on the hitting of Josh Gillard to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Captains on top, 2-0. For the game, Gillard had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Gillard.

The Captains saw their record improve to 97-42.
