Hawks Drop White Sox, 5-0
|
Lance Broski was nothing short of phenomenal for the Boise Hawks. The 20-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox, 5-0. Broski got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Losses have been few and far between for the White Sox, now 9-3.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Manny Jimenez? The Boise shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Hawks on top, 4-0. For the game, Jimenez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Jimenez.
