Hawks Bump Off Brewers, 3-0
|
The Boise Hawks beat the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers, 3-0, at Memorial Stadium. Starting pitcher Oscar Jimenez was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Daniel Gradilla picked up the save, his 5th. With the win, Boise boosts its record to 8-6.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Hawks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when right fielder Joe Hartsoe hit a 2-run single. The single came off Jorge Garcia and made the score 3-0, Hawks. Hartsoe was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hartsoe.
