Braves Reel In 1-0 Win
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.
In a tight tilt between the Atlanta (SS-A) Braves and the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers, Mario Santiago was the deciding factor. The Atlanta (SS-A) right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Santiago, now 1-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs.
Alex Hernandez drove in one run for Atlanta (SS-A). The 20-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Adam Murphy. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"The Braves earned it," said Milwaukee (SS-A) manager Ben Schorn. "Hats off to them."
The first-place Braves now have a record of 10-6.
