Victor Skinner pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers, despite Skinner's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Boise Hawks at Memorial Stadium. The winner was Jose Espinoza in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Victor Skinner took the loss. The first-place Hawks are now 12-8, the Dodgers 12-8.

Hsi-chuen Tian was the walk-off hero for Boise. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hawks left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's fun when you can help the team win games," said Tian.
