Brewers Suffer 7-3 Loss to Everett
The Everett AquaSox trumped the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers, 7-3, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Everett second baseman Austin Ward was terrific. He was 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Shawn Zahn. He tossed 66 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Mike Nance collected save number 3.

With Everett leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Ward hit a splitter from John Bridgewater for a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the AquaSox ahead, 3-0.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Ward told the Everett Citizen. "Whatever it takes."

The last-place AquaSox have a record of 8-11.
