Brewers Stick Hops with 3-2 Loss
|
The Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers beat the Hillsboro Hops, 3-2. Milwaukee (SS-A) pitcher and Kansas City, Kansas, native Nick Cordova led the way. Milwaukee (SS-A) reliever Justin Russo was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Nathaniel Valmont took the loss. The Brewers saw their win-loss record go to 16-10. At the same time, the Hops fell to 19-7.
Tyshawn Conerly, who is tied for 5th in the NWL in bases on balls with 13, helped out the Milwaukee (SS-A) cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Cordova, "and then get after it again."
