Hillsboro and Minnesota (SS-A) got after it at Lancaster Grounds.

Hops designated hitter Connor Ellsworth put his stamp on his team's 7-5 win over the Minnesota (SS-A) Twins. Ellsworth went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Hillsboro in the contest. Ricky Barrios was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was Justin Brown.

Josh Middleton provided a timely hit. The Hillsboro center fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hops on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Middleton told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."

Minnesota (SS-A) has now lost 4 consecutive games.
