Dodgers Get Extra-Inning, 11-10 Win
|
Despite the exploits of left fielder Sandoval Alberto, the Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds were beaten by the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers, 11-10, in 20 innings. Alberto went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and 4 walks. Los Angeles N (SS-A) reliever Luis Barriga snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alfonso Jaimes shouldered the loss. The Dodgers raised their record to 18-10.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 20th inning, when Los Angeles N (SS-A) shortstop Bob Porter, facing Alfonso Jaimes, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Dodgers the 11-10 win.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Zach Turner, the Los Angeles N (SS-A) skipper. "This one tested us."
