Volcanoes Coast to 11-2 Victory
The Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers took it on the chin, losing, 11-2, to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Mike Mars, who is tied for 6th in the NWL in wins with 3, pitched a strong game for Salem-Keizer. Mars got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Ted Hunter collected his 1st save.

Salem-Keizer relied on the hitting of Billy Crutchley to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Volcanoes on top, 3-0. For the game, Crutchley had 1 triple and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Salem-Keizer manager Josh Gilmore.

The second-place Brewers now sit at 16-10.
