Brewers Run Win Streak to 9
|
The Brewers kept their hot streak going.
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes got a superb performance from pitcher Brian McQuain. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Milwaukee (SS-A). The Brewers won the game, 1-0. McQuain threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Miguel Vela, the winning pitcher, is now 2-0. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2. Luke Bobak locked down his 2nd save.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from center fielder Kyle Archibeque. For the game, Archibeque was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Milwaukee (SS-A) a 1-0 lead.
"We're in some kind of groove right now," said Archibeque.
Milwaukee (SS-A) has run its win streak to 9 straight.
