The Boise Hawks handed the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels a 5-4 defeat at Memorial Stadium. Third Baseman Aaron Cruse starred for Boise. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Boise occupies second place in the East Division at 17-12.

The Angels had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hawks going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Juan Alvarez came to the plate. Alvarez hit a 3-run home run on a 2-2 slider from Los Angeles A (SS-A) hurler Kelly Maas. It was Alvarez's 4th home run of the year.

"Credit where credit is due," said Cruse, "this was a team win."
