Cincinnati (SS-A) Nets 3-2 Win Versus Canadians
|
Cincinnati (SS-A) beat Vancouver at Stallions Ballpark, escaping with a 3-2 win in 11 innings. The win in large part was due to third baseman Hugo Vitagliano. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cincinnati (SS-A) reliever Elijah Rouse was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Reagan Maitland took the loss. Cincinnati (SS-A) now sports a record of 15-15.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Cincinnati (SS-A) trailing 2-1, Vitagliano jumped on a sinker from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Reagan Maitland and hit a 2-run home run to center. With one swing, the Reds had a walk-off win.
"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Vitagliano.
