The Kansas City (SS-A) Royals in 10 innings defeated the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 4-2. Starting pitcher Garrett Youngblood was a big part of his team's success. Youngblood, now 3-3, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The 'W' lifts Kansas City (SS-A)'s record to 17-14.

The decisive blow was delivered by Fred Allday in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Manny Trevino to win the game for Kansas City (SS-A). The home crowd went nuts.

"Garrett commanded the zone from bottom to top," said Kansas City (SS-A) manager Travis Brassard.
