The home crowd had a good time watching the Hillsboro Hops and Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers get after it.

The Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers topped the Hillsboro Hops, 6-3, with youngster Brian Lombardi playing a key role. Lombardi went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs for the Brewers in the win. Ken Scarabino earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Ryan Corsaut collected his 3rd save.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Lombardi hit a 2-run single off Josh Holloway. It propelled the Brewers into the lead, 5-3.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Hillsboro skipper Carlos Diaz.

The triumph puts Milwaukee (SS-A) at 20-14 for the season.
