Down to Defeat Goes Hillsboro, 3-2
|
The Hillsboro Hops and Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers left the fans buzzing.
In a low-scoring contest between the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers and the Hillsboro Hops, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Ted Wilson proved to be the difference. The Los Angeles N (SS-A) right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Dodgers win. Wilson yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0.
Center Fielder Brian Niemeyer made an impact for Los Angeles N (SS-A), when he swatted a 2-run double off Nestor Carneira in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Niemeyer went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Ted pitched his heart out," said Los Angeles N (SS-A) manager Zach Turner.
With the win, Los Angeles N (SS-A) goes to 25-12, while the Hops fall to 15-20.
