Kansas City (SS-A) Upended by Boise, 3-2
|
Boise beat Kansas City (SS-A) on the strength of starting pitcher Lance Broski's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Broski, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The second-place Hawks bumped their record to 22-15.
Boise won the game in part because of Manny Jimenez. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hawks ahead, 3-1. For the game, Jimenez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Kansas City (SS-A) manager Travis Brassard.
