Dodgers Shellac Angels, 15-2
|
The Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers pounded the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels, 15-2, at Ballpark of Conshohocken. Sean Spikes, who is tied for 9th in the NWL in extra base hits with 14, had a solid game. He was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4 for the Dodgers. The winning pitcher was Raul Monge. His record now stands at 5-3. The right-hander went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Dodgers. Los Angeles N (SS-A) is now 27-12.
Justin Collins had a big 3-run home run for the Dodgers in the bottom of the second inning. With Los Angeles N (SS-A) leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Turner and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Dodgers on top, 6-0.
"Wish we could take a mulligan," said losing manager Sam Johnson.
