Emeralds Fall Short at Milwaukee (SS-A), 8-7
The Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers stopped the Eugene Emeralds, 8-7, in 10 innings at Ballpark of Fremont. The Brewers got a big game from John Grasty, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win was credited to Tony Obando in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Victor Mercado took the loss. The third-place Brewers improved to 18-21.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Grasty hit a fastball from Chris Herrera for a run-scoring single. The Brewers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Grasty said later.
