Canadians Bridle Braves, 2-0
|
Atlanta (SS-A) got a terrific performance from pitcher Bobby Olivares, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vancouver Canadians. Vancouver won the Nat Bailey Stadium contest, 2-0. Olivares threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Earning his 4th save of the year was Florent Loggia. Vancouver is now 33-6, 3 games up in the West Division.
Dennis Redding chipped in a solo home run for Vancouver in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Redding.
