Tight Tilt Goes to Twins, 4-3
|
The Minnesota (SS-A) Twins took Cincinnati (SS-A) pitcher Nestor Fuentes's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Stallions Ballpark. The final score had Minnesota (SS-A) getting past the Reds, 4-3. Fuentes went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Hubert Banatoni, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Jon Perkins recorded his 2nd save for Minnesota (SS-A).
Jose Miranda chipped in for Minnesota (SS-A), stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the first baseman was 2-3 with a double and a walk.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Minnesota (SS-A) manager Jared Charest said afterward.
