Volcanoes Stop Hawks, 4-1
|
Salem-Keizer registered a win at Volcanoes Stadium by beating the Boise Hawks, 4-1. Pitcher Ramon Pensotti was one reason why the Volcanoes triumphed. In 7 innings, Pensotti surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Mauricio Jimenez closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
Ryan Over had a big 2-run double for the Volcanoes in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Salem-Keizer leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Xavier Kindley and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Volcanoes ahead, 3-0.
