The Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels picked up a win at Oxnard Grounds, dropping the Eugene Emeralds, 1-0. Antonio Vega, who is tied for 10th in the NWL with a 2.21 ERA, was the difference-maker. Ray Turner notched his 1st save of the season. The Angels are now 19-23, while the Emeralds fall to 24-16.

The Angels got a big at-bat from catcher Scott Blankenburg. For the game, Blankenburg went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Los Angeles A (SS-A) a 1-0 lead.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Blankenburg told reporters after the game.
