Indians Beat Royals, 5-0
|
The Spokane Indians beat the Kansas City (SS-A) Royals, 5-0, at Avista Stadium. Starting pitcher Pat Pispinis was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. In 5.1 innings, Pispinis surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 6. He allowed no runs. Jose Yescas collected his 1st save.
The Indians got a big at-bat from third baseman David Victoria. For the game, Victoria went 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Spokane a 1-0 lead.
Victoria attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
The second-place Royals have lost 4 straight games.
