Brewers Beat Hawks, 3-1, at Memorial Stadium
|
The Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers picked up a win at Memorial Stadium, knocking off the Boise Hawks, 3-1. Starting pitcher Jake Sprague played a key role in the triumph. Sprague, now 1-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The Brewers go to 22-22, putting them second in the South Division.
Nate McDonald, who is tied for 5th in the NWL in triples with 3, had a direct impact on the outcome. McDonald contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Milwaukee (SS-A) up, 2-0.
"The other side played a good game," said Boise manager Rob Procise. "You tip your cap to them."
