Sheets Goes Deep Twice in 8-0 Brewers Win
Led by Nick Sheets, the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers downed the Vancouver Canadians, 8-0. Sheets was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Brewers. Frank Macias, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Canadians to no runs on 1 hit over 6.1 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2. With the victory, the Brewers upped their record to 27-17.

The Canadians had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Brewers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Jim Taylor came to the plate. Taylor hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 slider from Vancouver hurler Danny Miranda. It was Taylor's 1st home run of the year.

"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Taylor told the Milwaukee (SS-A) Today.
