Atlanta (SS-A) Edges Everett in Extra Innings
|
The Atlanta (SS-A) Braves knocked off the Everett AquaSox, 8-7, at Rocketmen Stadium. It took 12 innings. Glaucio Aspera was a prime reason Atlanta (SS-A) won. The first baseman went 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jens van Daalen, now 2-2, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The slumping AquaSox have lost 7 straight.
The Braves got a clutch hit from left fielder Bill Mendoza. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Braves.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Aspera said in his postgame press conference.
