Los Angeles N (SS-A) Topples Salem-Keizer, 4-2
|
Dodgers right fielder Jose Lopez left his mark on his team's 4-2 win over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Lopez, who is tied for 3rd in the NWL in triples with 4, went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Los Angeles N (SS-A) in the contest. Los Angeles N (SS-A) starter Edgar Ramos was credited with the win after throwing 84 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Dane Harvey earned the save, his 1st, for the Dodgers.
With Los Angeles N (SS-A) leading 3-2 in the top of the seventh, Lopez hit a run-scoring single off Salem-Keizer hurler Jose Alvarez. It was the 40th hit of the season for Lopez and put his team ahead, 4-2.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lopez told reporters after the game.
After today's action, Los Angeles N (SS-A) sits at 24-21; Salem-Keizer slips to 22-23.
