Adam McCoy pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Atlanta (SS-A) Braves, despite McCoy's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Minnesota (SS-A) Twins at Lancaster Grounds. Dave Ritchie finished to wrap up his 1st save. With the win over Atlanta (SS-A), the Twins improved to 20-25.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Twins had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when third baseman Mario Vega hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Adam McCoy and made the score 2-0, Twins. Vega was 2-4 with 2 singles.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Minnesota (SS-A) skipper Justin Dupree.
