Smith Schools Tri-City in 4-1 Spokane Triumph
|
The Spokane Indians knocked off the Tri-City Dust Devils, 4-1, in Northwest League action at Gesa Stadium. Spokane pitcher and Jacksonville, Florida, native Mike Smith had an outstanding performance. The Indians, at 22-22, sit in third place in the East Division.
Smith, the winner, is now 2-3, after putting the clamps on the Tri-City offense. In 8.1 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 7 Ks.
"Mike was aggressive right out of the chute," said Spokane manager Adam Leporati.
