Avista Stadium featured a tense pitchers' duel.

The Spokane Indians had to overcome a fine effort from Salem-Keizer pitcher Eric Ervin to win, 2-1, at Avista Stadium. Ervin went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Danny Olivas earned the win to go to 2-3. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Dave Cogar closed the door for Spokane, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

Making an impact for the home team was Sergio Delgado. In the bottom of the third, the 21-year old shortstop had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Indians.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Delgado.

Spokane is now 23-22, while Salem-Keizer is 25-19.
