Tri-City Listless in 9-1 Loss
|
The Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds cut down the Tri-City Dust Devils by the score of 9-1, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Rick Normandeau. Normandeau was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Reds. The Reds now own a record of 29-18.
With Cincinnati (SS-A) leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Normandeau hit a fastball from Israel Elizarraras for a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Reds ahead, 7-0.
"They just got us," said Tri-City manager Bill Lawther, "and that's all I can say."
