The Hartford Yard Goats topped the Binghamton Mets by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Hector Machuca. Machuca went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Yard Goats. The winner was Edgar Zapien in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Miguel Cazares took the loss. Pedro Chamaua provided a timely hit. The Hartford shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yard Goats on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
