Angels Earn 3-1 Road Win Over Milwaukee (AZL)
|
The Los Angeles A (AZL) Angels earned a close win over the Milwaukee (AZL) Brewers, thanks in part to Rick Perkins. The Los Angeles A (AZL) right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Perkins got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Ryan Moutoux got credit for the save for Los Angeles A (AZL). It was his 1st of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Bill Bernard? The Los Angeles A (AZL) catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Angels on top, 2-0. For the game, Bernard had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Perkins told the Los Angeles A (AZL) Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The win puts Los Angeles A (AZL) at 4-6.
