Mariners Rally For 2-1 Win
|
Seattle (AZL) got a first-rate effort from pitcher Bartolomeo Guistiniani, who frustrated San Diego (AZL) hitters en route to a 2-1 Mariners triumph at Peoria Sports Complex. Getting the save was Rogelio Vicario, his 1st. The win gives Seattle (AZL) a record of 5-5.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Manuel Villa came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing San Diego (AZL) pitcher Ramiro Solar, he hit a 2-1 screwball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle (AZL) on top, 2-1.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Guistiniani said.
