The Texas (AZL) Rangers beat the San Diego (AZL) Padres by a score of 7-3. Texas (AZL) catcher Adam Ownbey deserved the lion's share of the credit. Ownbey went 4 for 4 with 4 singles for the Rangers. The win puts Texas (AZL) at 12-2.

Hermenegildo Valbom had a big 2-run triple for the Rangers in the top of the fifth inning. With Texas (AZL) leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a splitter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Todd Rizzolo and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.
