Rangers Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Giants

The San Francisco (AZL) Giants got a superb performance from pitcher Eric Lewis. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Texas (AZL). The Rangers won the game, 2-1. Lewis threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Julian Keen. He tossed 82 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 9 hits. Victor Saldarriaga recorded the save, his 2nd.
Mike Loftin provided a timely hit. The Texas (AZL) center fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Every loss stings," said San Francisco (AZL) manager Kyle Horn. "This one is no exception."
Texas (AZL)'s record now stands at 7-9, placing them 4th in the West Division.
