Giants Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start

Seattle (AZL) pitcher Josh Marshall gave the Giants all they could handle, but in the end, San Francisco (AZL) left Scottsdale Stadium with a win, 2-0. Marshall allowed no runs on 2 hits over 5 innings. Nick Lane came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Dustin Kirby recorded the save for San Francisco (AZL), his 2nd of the season.
San Francisco (AZL) took the lead, 1-0, on Tom Ritter's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Seattle (AZL) pitcher Phil McDowell in the bottom of the seventh.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Ritter, "one at-bat at a time."
Yes, it was a win for San Francisco (AZL); but their 3-13 mark is nothing to crow about.
