Guardians Bump Off Brewers, 9-2
|
The Milwaukee (AZL) Brewers got a sterling performance from right fielder Dimacali Martinez, but the Cleveland (AZL) Guardians still prevailed, 9-2. Martinez went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. After today's action, Cleveland (AZL) sits at 6-14, while Milwaukee (AZL) falls to 11-8.
A key moment came in the bottom of the second inning when Guardians first baseman Greg Novotney socked a first pitch fastball to left for a 2-run single, putting Cleveland (AZL) up, 5-2.
"Things went our way," said Novotney.
