The Cincinnati (AZL) Reds used a stellar performance from pitcher Ralph Taggart to throttle the Oakland (AZL) offense en route to an extra-inning, 4-1 win at Papago Park Sports Facility. Alex Acabado, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Andy Epp collected his 1st save.

Cincinnati (AZL) used a timely hit from Jong-min Kim to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Reds ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

Taggart called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
