Rangers Upend White Sox, 3-1
|
Alex Barriento pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Chicago A (AZL) White Sox, despite Barriento's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Texas (AZL) Rangers at Surprise Stadium. Alex Allende was the winner. Over 5 innings, he yielded 1 run on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Nick Tormanen closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
Early in the game, center fielder Josh Valencia had a run-scoring triple for Texas (AZL). It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Rangers on top, 2-1.
"Tough loss," said Chicago A (AZL) manager Noel Clodfelter. "But we'll learn from it."
The third-place White Sox now sit at 12-10.
