Shane Sharman was terrific for the Arizona (AZL) Diamondbacks in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Kansas City (AZL) Royals. His performance earned Sharman rave reviews. The winner was Sharman. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jeff Michael. The first-place Diamondbacks improved to 16-7.

Frank Alvarez had a big run-scoring double for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Arizona (AZL) leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Michael and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diamondbacks ahead, 2-0.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Sharman. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
