In a tight game between the San Francisco (AZL) Giants and the Chicago N (AZL) Cubs, pitcher Tony Harnly was terrific on the mound. The San Francisco (AZL) right-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Jim Osburn closed the door for San Francisco (AZL), picking up his 1st save of the year. At 14-17, the Giants claim 4th place in the East Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Kevin Hamby? The San Francisco (AZL) shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Giants on top, 1-0. For the game, Hamby had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I like winning," Hamby told the San Francisco (AZL) Daily. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
