Padres Send Cleveland (AZL) Home with 3-0 Loss
The San Diego (AZL) Padres faced a tough opponent in Cleveland (AZL) pitcher Jordan Briskey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Peoria Sports Complex by a final score of 3-0. Briskey went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. San Diego (AZL) reliever D.J. Stripling picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Steve Lester took the loss. With the win, the Padres sit at 20-11.

Jerry Welch, who is tied for 8th in the AZL in bases on balls with 19, took Cleveland (AZL) hurler Steve Lester deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Padres on top, 1-0. In all, Welch had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
