Fading Diamondbacks Lose 15th Straight

The Cleveland (AZL) Guardians faced a tough opponent in Arizona (AZL) pitcher Jim Unknown, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Indians Developmental Complex by a final score of 4-1. Unknown went 7 innings and allowed no runs. J.P. O'Kelley picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. Cleveland (AZL), at 14-17, holds down last place in the Central Division.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Chris Cole came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Arizona (AZL) pitcher Jim Unknown, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland (AZL) on top, 2-1.
"We're learning some lessons in the school of hard knocks," philosophized losing manager Gabe Figueroa.
