Royals Snatch Late Win
The Kansas City (AZL) Royals got a stellar performance from pitcher Francisco Beltran, who handcuffed the San Francisco (AZL) offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Scottsdale Stadium. Kansas City (AZL) reliever Rafael Acosta picked up the win to move to 3-0. Wayne Perry suffered the loss. At 16-21, Kansas City (AZL) is in last place in the West Division.

Kansas City (AZL) used the timely hitting of Jim Neely to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Royals on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Beltran called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."
