It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.

Getting an impressive start from Michael Doyle, Los Angeles N (AZL) beat Kansas City (AZL) by the score of 2-1. The winning pitcher was Doyle, now 4-0. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5.

Tied up with the Royals in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Dodgers got a boost from designated hitter Justin Collins. With a runner on 3rd, Collins saw a full count fastball from Eric Marlin and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Los Angeles N (AZL) on top, 2-1.

"I'll be honest," said Doyle. "I was running on fumes at the end."

The first-place Dodgers improved to 28-9.
