Mariners Win Pitchers' Duel, 1-0, Versus Rangers
The Seattle (AZL) Mariners and Texas (AZL) Rangers put on a pitchers' duel.

Luis Medina could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Texas (AZL) Rangers lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Seattle (AZL) Mariners at Peoria Sports Complex. Anibal Arruda saved it for Seattle (AZL).

With one out in the bottom of the third, Tony Aguilar put Seattle (AZL) in front, 1-0, with a run-scoring single. The Mariners went on to win the ballgame.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Danny Rios.

The Mariners, now 17-22, know that wins in August count the same as wins in September.
